I want to help

Welcome to Carlington Community Health Centre

We help individuals take control of their personal health while working to improve the overall health and well-being of our community. Our Centre provides a wide range of support such like primary health care, mental health, and addiction, empowering youth, combatting homelessness, food insecurity and more. These services are delivered through workshops, drop-ins, support groups, community meetings, training, outreach, counselling, and education programs. In addition to our main office, we provide services at outreach locations including: Bellevue, Carleton Heights, and Scott Hill/Van Lang.

Beyond health services, our Centre plays a vital role in strengthening the community. We support local residents in resolving issues and advocating for local needs by providing organizational support and advocacy assistance to local groups and associations. Through this holistic approach, we aim to break down barriers, promote health equity, and create a welcoming space where everyone feels valued and supported.

Our Community and Clients

Carlington Community Health Centre (CCHC) serves a diverse range of individuals and families, including youth, adults, and seniors. While CCHC provides care to the general population, we have a special focus on improving access to comprehensive primary care and addressing social determinants of health for vulnerable communities, including:

  • Low-income individuals
  • People facing barriers to traditional healthcare (e.g., language, transportation, cultural sensitivity)
  • Indigenous populations
  • Immigrants and refugees
  • Individuals with mental health or substance use issues
  • People with chronic health conditions
  • Homeless or at-risk populations

Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, receives equitable, accessible, and holistic healthcare services.

Our Designated Area

The boundaries for Carlington CHC’s client service catchment area are the Ottawa River to the north, Baseline Road to the south, Woodroffe Avenue to the west and Island Park Drive/Fisher Avenue to the east; plus the area south of Baseline Road and east of Fisher Avenue to the Rideau River.

Testimonial about the Perinatal Program

We greatly appreciated the help provided by the Perinatal Parenting Support Program. We were especially impressed by the ability to ask difficult questions and always receive kind, compassionate answers, along with solutions that had an immediate practical impact. This program gave us all the resources we needed to succeed in our transition to parenthood, and we are deeply grateful.
