On Wednesday June 25, 2025 our Centre will hold it’s Annual General Meeting from 6:00-7:00p.m at 900 Merivale Road. All are welcome to attend, but only Centre members may vote. Members will receive meeting material in advance. For more information, please contact our Executive Assistant at

Programs and Services

Families / Perinatal Parent Support Program

The Perinatal Parent Support Program: Supported from the Start, supports families across the Ontario East health region, from early in pregnancy until their infants are 6 months old. This free, interactive, mostly virtual program offers perinatal education and support which provides seamless continuity of care through an innovative five pillar approach. This program is offered on a Facebook private group platform with sessions offered through Zoom. The use of social media in this way has facilitated rapid health literacy acquisition, knowledge dissemination, file sharing, targeted education, easy access to timely information. Support for families when and where they need it.

The 5 Pillar Approach

I. Prenatal Education/Support: Unique, live virtual sessions cohorted by gestational age delivered weekly throughout the entirety of the pregnancy.

II. Parent Education/Support: Live virtual discussion of topics relevant to parenting offered in the last weeks of pregnancy and first 6 months postpartum with an emphasis on reducing anxiety, building confidence, promoting responsive parenting, and early infant and child mental health.

III. Breastfeeding Education/Support: Both prenatal and post-partum access to virtual education/support groups; one-on-one lactation support (virtual and in-person); weekly virtual Q&A with a lactation consultant and in-person drop-in.

IV. Perinatal Mental Health Education/Support: Virtual education/support including managing anxiety for new and expectant parents (MAP) program, partner specific education and support, and perinatal mental health screening and referral.

V. One-on-One Support: Virtual and in-person one-on-one support to address individual needs not compatible with group learning; provide enhanced support to parents with high-risk pregnancies and/or complex needs and systems navigation.

(Please note that every effort will be made to accommodate families attending, but there are limited spaces. High-risk pregnancy: Roadmap for successful breastfeeding

Are you experiencing a high-risk pregnancy?  Worried about breastfeeding success? Join our Lactation Consultant online designed for families who are experiencing high risk pregnancies and/or have concerns about breastfeeding success. Learn about specific strategies to improve your breastfeeding outcomes. (Note: Please attend the Prenatal Breastfeeding Information Sessions first if possible)

Prenatal Education

VIRTUAL GROUP
Live Online Prenatal sessions. From the moment you know you are pregnant we have an ongoing session to meet your needs. You can virtually drop-in weekly to ask a question you may have.

16-24 weeks – 3rd Wednesday of the month
24-33 weeks – 2nd Wednesday of the month
33 weeks+ – 1st Wednesday of the month

BUNS in the Oven

SEASONAL PROGRAM
Coming back in September, 2025. Are you pregnant?  Why not join this friendly group focused on prenatal nutrition and healthy pregnancy. This program is offered in English and Arabic and limited child care spaces are available too. Come every week, cook a meal together, learn how to have a healthy pregnancy and ask questions of our knowledgeable team.

Parenting Infants Under 6 Months of Age

VIRTUAL GROUP
Having a baby can be a wonderful and often stressful transition. Join our family support worker for information sessions with lots of  time for questions. Sessions are live and online to make it easier to attend with a newborn. Come when you are pregnant (after 25 weeks), and learn before your little one arrives.
